(Boynton Beach, FL--) Bethesda Health is pleased to announce Shawn Franklin as the Executive Director of Integrated Networks.
In his role, Mr. Franklin is responsible for forming a new organization that unites community physicians with Bethesda Health in partnership to ensure high quality care and more efficient use of resources with the goal of healthier people in our community. The Clinically Integrated Network will position the Bethesda Health hospital system and partner providers to thrive in an environment where patients, employers, and payers continue to demand greater value for the care we provide.
Mr. Franklin was most recently the Executive Director of Holy Cross Physician Partners, LLC, in Fort Lauderdale, FL where since 2012, he led efforts to establish one of Southeast Florida’s first Clinically Integrated Networks. Holy Cross Physician Partners was the first such network to secure a full-service Accountable Care Program agreement with a large commercial insurance payer and currently has the most extensive portfolio of shared savings agreements in the market. Mr. Franklin also played a significant role in developing standard operating models and technology infrastructure to support national CIN programs within Trinity Health, the parent corporation of Holy Cross Hospital. Established in 2015, Mr. Franklin helped develop and was co-Executive Director of Atlantic Coast Health Network, the first regional Clinically Integrated Network in Florida.
Prior to his tenure at Holy Cross, Mr. Franklin was Chief Operating Officer of Medical Specialists of the Palm Beaches (MSPB) and had the operational responsibility for 78 physicians in multispecialty practices, two imaging centers, a full service laboratory, histology laboratory, Urgent Care Center, concierge practice and a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facility. Mr. Franklin also served as the Compliance Officer and interim CEO for the organization. Prior to MSPB, Mr. Franklin held senior management positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida for nearly ten years in the areas of Large Group Sales, Physician and Facility Contracting and Provider Network Management.
