As one of the area’s most experienced maternity centers, Bethesda Hospital East knows babies. Our team of Board Certified obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists and nurses has shared a passion for helping families grow for more than 50 years.
We’re here for parents-to-be every step of the way, from finding the right physician to answering late-night questions once baby is home. Our prenatal classes, led by certified maternal-child nurse educators, help moms and dads prepare for the big day, while our Certified Lactation consultants provide breast feeding information and support before and after baby arrives.
Our Family-Centered Maternity Care Program promotes bonding between moms and babies at birth. This program keeps new mothers and babies together from the moment of birth, and keeps them together in the same room and cared for by one mother-baby Registered Nurse.
It is also comforting to know that Bethesda’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is staffed by a neonatologist 24 hours a day, providing the highest level of care for premature and critically ill newborns.
With more than 3,200 deliveries a year, we know babies.
