About the da Vinci® Xi

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the da Vinci Xi gives surgeons an up-close look at the surgical site with its highly magnified, high definition, 3-D vision system. One notable feature of the da Vinci surgical line is the mechanical “wrist” that bends and rotates in a motion similar to the human wrist, allowing surgeons to make small, precise movements inside your body while minimizing the effects of hand tremors. As the latest model of da Vinci surgical systems, the Xi boasts a new overhead instrument arm that gives a wider range of positioning options for better access to the patient’s body. It also has a new and improved vision system, smaller and thinner instrument arms that offer a greater range of motion, and longer instrument shafts to optimize reach. The da Vinci Xi system can assist the surgeon in the treatment of prostate and gynecologic disorders, as well as for kidney stones and gall bladder disease.
