Breast Ultrasound Imaging

Used to determine whether a palpable breast lump is cystic or solid.

 

Breast Biopsies

Stereotactic, ultrasound and MRI guided breast biopsies are performed when necessary to facilitate the early diagnosis of breast cancer.

 

Breast MRI 

Together with Bethesda Outpatient Imaging Center, Bethesda Women's Health Center offers Breast MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and MRI guided breast biopsies.

 

Galactography

This X-ray exam uses mammography and a contrast material to obtain pictures of the breast’s milk ducts.
 

Bone Density Testing

Affecting one out of four American women each year, osteoporosis is a condition resulting from a gradual loss of bone tissue, typically following menopause. Bethesda Women’s Health Center uses a digital bone densitometer with CAD (computer-aided detection) to provide view of both the spine and hip for osteoporosis screening. The equipment is also capable of vertebral fracture assessment.

 

Osteoporosis and Menopause Consultations

Women can request one-on-one consultation with Bethesda’s Nurse Practitioner who is a Certified Menopause Specialist by the North American Menopause Society. Topics including osteoporosis and menopause, as well as treatment options and management can be explored without bias.

 

Ultrasound Imaging

Bethesda Women's Health Center offers ultrasound imaging services for abdominal, pelvic, renal and thyroid imaging.
