Bethesda Cancer Care Committee Report for November/December 2011 and January 2012
Bethesda Women’s Health Center, with the support of grants received from the Komen Foundation, performed:
- 116 Mammograms
- 87 Breast Ultrasounds
- 36 Breast Biopsies or Cyst Aspirations
- 70 Clinical Breast Exams
- 13 Bilateral Breast MRIs
- 171 patients were recommended for Breast Biopsy or surgical consultation
- 40 patients were diagnosed with breast cancer from biopsies done at Bethesda Women's Health Center, and 2 of those patients were Komen patients
- 16 patients were assisted with breast cancer treatment costs through the use of Komen Treatment Grant Funds
- 1 patient was seen at the Bethesda Women's Health Center's Multi Modality Clinic
- The percentage of patients who were recommended for a biopsy and were offered a biopsy appointment within 5 days of being seen*: 100% - November 2011
- The percentage of patients who were recommended for a biopsy and were offered a biopsy appointment within 5 days of being seen*: 100% - December 2011
- The percentage of patients who were recommended for a biopsy and were offered a biopsy appointment within 5 days of being seen*: 100% - January 2012
