Bethesda Cancer Care Committee Report for November/December 2011 and January 2012

  

Bethesda Women’s Health Center, with the support of grants received from the Komen Foundation, performed:

  • 116 Mammograms
  • 87 Breast Ultrasounds
  • 36 Breast Biopsies or Cyst Aspirations
  • 70 Clinical Breast Exams
  • 13 Bilateral Breast MRIs
  • 171 patients were recommended for Breast Biopsy or surgical consultation
  • 40 patients were diagnosed with breast cancer from biopsies done at Bethesda Women's Health Center, and 2 of those patients were Komen patients
  • 16 patients were assisted with breast cancer treatment costs through the use of Komen Treatment Grant Funds
  • 1 patient was seen at the Bethesda Women's Health Center's Multi Modality Clinic
  • The percentage of patients who were recommended for a biopsy and were offered a biopsy appointment within 5 days of being seen*: 100% - November 2011
  • The percentage of patients who were recommended for a biopsy and were offered a biopsy appointment within 5 days of being seen*: 100% - December 2011
  • The percentage of patients who were recommended for a biopsy and were offered a biopsy appointment within 5 days of being seen*: 100% - January 2012
    (*Note: This does not include patients who were on anticoagulant therapy)
